TO THE REGISTERED VOTERS OF HARRIS COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 248
An election will be held between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on May 2, 2026, at Hyatt Place Houston-Northwest/Cy-Fair, 19813 Northwest Freeway, Houston, Harris County, Texas, for the purpose of electing two (2) directors of Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 248.
Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted at Hyatt Place Houston-Northwest/Cy-Fair, 19813 Northwest Freeway, Houston, Harris County, Texas, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., on Monday, April 20, 2026, and on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 through Tuesday, April 28, 2026, excluding any Saturdays, Sundays and any State Holiday. There will be no early voting by personal appearance on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, a state holiday.
Applications for ballots by mail shall be sent to the Early Voting Clerk by regular mail to: Early Voting Clerk, Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 248, c/o Hyatt Place Houston-Northwest/Cy-Fair, 19813 Northwest Freeway, Houston, Texas 77065; by common or contract carrier to: Early Voting Clerk, Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 248, Hyatt Place Houston-Northwest/Cy-Fair, 19813 Northwest Freeway, Houston, Texas 77065; by FAX to (713)652-6515; or by email to 91248@smithmur.com. For further information, contact the Early Voting Clerk by telephone at (281) 415-8801. Applications for ballots by mail must be received no later than the close of business at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026. To be effective, an original application for ballot by mail submitted by FAX or EMAIL must also be submitted by mail and be received by the Early Voting Clerk not later than the fourth business day after the transmission by fax or email is received.

NOTICE OF DEADLINE TO FILE APPLICATIONS FOR PLACE ON THE BALLOT
The next election for the District will be held on May 2, 2026.
To be qualified to serve as a director, a person shall be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the district or be a qualified voter within the district.
Director candidacy filing requirements and deadlines are as follows:
To run for election to the District’s Board of Directors, a person must file an application for a place on the ballot. The application must be filed with the Secretary of the District’s Board of Directors or his/her designated agent by mail, electronic mail, fax or in person. An application may be downloaded/printed from the website of the Texas Secretary of State at https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/pol-sub/2-49f.pdf.
- First day to file for place on May 2, 2026 general election ballot is Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
- Last day to file for place on May 2, 2026 general election ballot is by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026.
- A person may run for election to the District’s Board of Directors as a write-in candidate and to do so must file a declaration of write-in candidacy. The declaration must be filed with the Secretary of the District’s Board of Directors or his/her designated agent by mail, fax, email or in person. A declaration form may be downloaded/printed from the website of the Texas Secretary of State at https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/pol-sub/2-55f.pdf .
- Deadline to file write-in candidacy declaration for May 2, 2026 general election is by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
